Updates The Launch Party - August 14, 2003

February/March 2003 In the glass shop, the deck is being molded.
Coring, of various types, is used by all builders to reduce weight up high in the structure. Unlike most others, Cabo Rico never installs hardware through a cored area. Nor do we use plywood backing pads as most builders do. Instead, we make sure all such areas are solid glass so there is no possibility of moisture finding its way into the core. Because, no matter haw well you bed a deck fitting, sometime over the years, it can start to work, allowing moisture into the fasteners. No problem on your Cabo Rico.
The vacuum bag process assures the best adhesion between the core and the laminate. Producing a pressure of 500 lbs/sq. ft. the core is fully bonded.
The first deck is removed from the mold!
On the floor, the window area of hull #1 is distinctly visible.
