Updates The Launch Party - August 14, 2003

February 2003 Well into February, things have progressed significantly. Much of the work is hard to spot, as it involves wiring, plumbing, tabbing with fiberglass, cabinets being crafted in the wood shop, engine pre-test, engineering and design work on systems, individual layout features, specing optional equipment and designing its installation, etc.
Remember the forward stateroom as it was last month?
Lets take a look through the interior now! All the cabinetry is now in place.
Notice the thickness of the top edges of each bulkhead. Every Cabo Rico uses fiberglass tabbing to secure both sides of each bulkhead to the deck. This assures a strong bond between the two. Most builders today glue a deck liner to the underside of the deck. It has receiving grooves, that they fill with glue, which then fit over their bulkheads. This does not hold those boats together well if they flex in heavy weather or you hit something. Cabo Ricos, by contrast, are so strong that they have withstood severe groundings, encounters with reefs and other vessels, and even submerged containers. Cabo Rico bulkheads do not let go or come apart!
Individual cabinet units are made in the woodshop and are almost ready to be installed between the individual bulkheads. This one is for the main saloon.
