By March the deck has been trimmed, coach roof sides installed and some of the hardware is installed.
Inside, work continues,
particularly in the mechanical areas.
The steering system is now in place, inside...
and out.
The deck is lifted into place.
The hull to deck mating system on a Cabo Rico is the strongest in the industry. Indeed, Cruising World Magazine described our hull to deck joint as “positively boom proof“ (Dec, ’89).

A raised bulwark design, connected to an internal hull sheer clamp,
provides the total design with a large "U" channel structure around
the entire vessel, creating a form which greatly reduces the "Twist"
factor present in any sailing yacht. Sealed with 3M 5200, this critical
joint is then thru-bolted throughout. Our design also provides a vertical
platform for attaching lifeline stanchions in their leak proof position.
Raised bulwark designs not only provide superior strength, but just
as importantly, provide superior watertight integrity.
The deck is on and it is a perfect fit. A true testiment to our engineers and tooling team. Just ask other boat company workers, if they will be candid.
Now one can stand in her cockpit and feel like you are truly on a 56’ boat.
